In 1988 Smokie made a comeback with Alan Barton as the new lead singer,
and the new album "My Heart Is True". Alan Barton became to be a great
success for the band. Smokie held the premiere concert at Fossen
Restaurant in Hnefoss, a concert break the doors and sold out all the
tickets (and a few more) This is maybe Smokies best concert ever, and I
give the concert 6 points of 6 possible points. They did play all they're
best songs as "Living Next Door To Alice", "Oh Carol", "Needless and
Pins", "If think you know how to love me", "Lay Back In The Arms Of
Someone", and Smokie was once again attractive for the Norwegian market.
The album "My Heart Is True", wasn't very good, but good enough for the
Norwegian Smokie fans. The bands member now was Alan Barton, Alan Silson
and Terry Uttley.

23 Mars 1995 Alan Barton died in a bus accident on a tour in Germany.

Mike Craft is the new lead singer in Smokie after Alan's tragic death. The British group keep playing in the same style.

The album "The World And Elsewhere" have simple, good listening popmusic, without the big musical challenge. The album become an album for the biggest fans of Smokie.

Mike Craft's voice remind me about Bryan Adams style, and under a concert in Skien (Norway) in 1995, his first Norwegian concert, he sing "Summer Of 69", excellent version of the song.

See the pics from the concert by clicking on the picture below..

Here U'll find pictures from the concert in Skien.

Alan Silson and Terry Uttley memorize Alan Barton with a speak with very specially feelings for me and the other Smokie fans. They was very sorry 'bout the accident and miss him a lot, but had decide to let the life goes on. Then they played a memory song to remind about Alan Barton. They pretend that they was still going on as long it was fun, and that it would be Alan Bartons wish too. Terry Uttley is now the only member of Smokie since the beginning in the early 60's.
